The St. Louis Lyons Womxn’s Hockey Team is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose goals are to serve our local community by providing a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for women and nonbinary people of all athletic abilities and skill levels to enjoy hockey!
Our organization believes that providing opportunities for women in sports is important, especially in hockey. According to USA Hockey only 15% of Hockey players in the US are women.
The St. Louis Lyons Womxn’s Team hopes to bring more women to the sport by helping them cover the cost of ice and equipment and providing both a safe learning environment and fun, competitive games.
Some of the things our team is already doing to achieve our goals and keep women’s hockey affordable are:
- Skater’s first practice with us is free
- Completely volunteer-based coaching staff
- Lending equipment for free when available
